Shift Type: Night shift, 3x12-hour nights per week (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM), typically 3 nights/week including weekends; self-scheduled rotation. Orientation: Week 1 Mon-Fri days; Week 2: 36 hours on-unit orientation with a preceptor.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality progressive care nursing for oncology telemetry patients, prioritizing safety and infection prevention
• Interpret cardiac rhythms and respond appropriately as part of rapid response/code teams
• Manage complex vascular access including ports, central lines and PICCs with meticulous care
• Safely administer and monitor blood products and PCA therapies
• Provide respiratory support such as HFNC, CPAP/BiPAP and tracheostomy care when needed
• Perform arterial blood gas interpretation and respond to changes in patient condition
• Start and maintain IVs and follow heparin and other unit-specific protocols
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (PT, Respiratory, Pharmacy, Social Work, etc.) to create patient-centered plans

Qualifications

• Active RN license (eligible to practice in Ohio)
• Minimum 2 years of clinical nursing experience preferred (PCU/Telemetry/ICU or oncology backgrounds do well here)
• Required certifications: BCLS/BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Proven experience with telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Familiarity with Epic charting (required)
• Willingness to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required per facility guideline

Education

• Active RN license required
• ADN or BSN in Nursing preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• High-acuity PCU and progressive care nursing skills
• Central line, PICC and peripheral IV care and IV insertion
• Blood product administration and PCA pump management
• Chest tube management (Emerson / Pleur-evac) and non-invasive airway support
• High flow nasal cannula (HFNC) and CPAP/BiPAP familiarity
• ABG interpretation and use of arterial lines
• Oncology fundamentals including chemo monitoring and safe handling (preferred)
• Infection prevention practices and fall-prevention strategies
• Strong communication and teamwork for rapid response/code situations
