Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide expert peri-procedural nursing in the cath lab and IR suite, supporting complex cardiac, neurovascular, and endovascular procedures
• Prepare, scrub, and circulate during procedures as needed, maintaining sterile technique and patient safety
• Perform Epic charting and accurate documentation of procedures, meds, and patient status
• Administer and monitor IV therapy, procedural sedation, emergency medications, and titratable drips
• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and intervene per protocols for dysrhythmias and hemodynamic changes
• Coordinate interdisciplinary care with anesthesia, radiology, pharmacy, respiratory therapy, and rapid response teams
• Respond to on-call activations professionally and be ready to provide care during weekend and weekday call shifts
• Educate patients and families about procedures, post-procedure care, and discharge instructions with compassion and clarity

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of practice (pending licenses are not accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of lab experience required (must have 2 years in a lab; facility prefers candidates with 2-room lab experience in a 250+ bed facility)
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, CCI
• Epic experience is a hard requirement for IR RN; Epic highly preferred for Cath Lab RN
• Scrub skills preferred; please highlight if you have strong scrub experience
• Neuro and vascular experience required for IR RN
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotation (7 days/month, includes one weekend/month)

Knowledge & Skills

• Cath Lab procedures and interventional radiology procedures
• Electrophysiology (EP) knowledge - nice to have
• Epic charting and electronic documentation
• Scrub procedures and sterile technique
• IV therapy, central line and PICC care, and blood product administration
• Interpretation/management of dysrhythmias and procedural sedation monitoring
• Radiation and laser safety, sheath removal, and ACT monitoring
• Familiarity with advanced procedures: PCI, TAVR, cerebral angiography, angioplasty, stent placement
