Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct care and assistance with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, feeding)
- Monitor and record patient condition and vital signs, reporting changes to nursing staff
- Assist with safe patient transfers, mobility, and fall-prevention measures
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively during shift handoffs
- Support a clean, safe environment by following infection control and facility policies
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to promote comfort, dignity and quality of life
Qualifications
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification — required
- Active or transferable state CNA credentials (New Mexico preferred)
- Comfortable with physical aspects of care and patient transfers
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to pass facility-required background checks and health screenings
- CPR/BLS certification preferred
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- CNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Hands-on patient care and activities-of-daily-living (ADL) support
- Basic vital signs measurement and observation of patient condition
- Safe transfer and mobility techniques
- Infection control practices and proper use of PPE
- Clear documentation and effective shift-to-shift communication
- Teamwork, professionalism, and patient-centered approach
