Shift Type: Rotating night schedule, 12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM NOC; typically 3 nights per week (averaging 36 hours/week) and includes every other weekend

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to a broad range of patients, from minor injuries to critical cases
- Triage patients quickly and accurately to prioritize lifesaving interventions
- Administer medications, IVs and treatments safely and according to protocols
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers and the care team to develop and execute care plans
- Document assessments, interventions and patient responses clearly in the medical record
- Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and follow-up care with compassion
- Identify changes in patient condition early and escalate concerns to the team without delay
Qualifications
- Active RN license in Vermont or compact multistate RN license
- Minimum 3 years of emergency room (ER) nursing experience (3-5 years preferred)
- Current BLS required; ACLS strongly preferred
- Comfortable working nights and every other weekend as part of the schedule
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-acuity patients in a fast-paced setting
- Must be able to pass background check and drug screen per facility policy
Education
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong triage and emergency assessment skills
- Proficiency with IV therapy, medication administration and basic procedures
- Familiarity interpreting EKGs and recognizing acute cardiac presentations
- Excellent critical thinking and situational awareness in high-stress moments
- Clear, empathetic communication with patients, families and interdisciplinary teams
- Comfort using electronic medical records and documenting timely, accurate notes
