Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to a broad range of patients, from minor injuries to critical cases
• Triage patients quickly and accurately to prioritize lifesaving interventions
• Administer medications, IVs and treatments safely and according to protocols
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers and the care team to develop and execute care plans
• Document assessments, interventions and patient responses clearly in the medical record
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments and follow-up care with compassion
• Identify changes in patient condition early and escalate concerns to the team without delay

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Vermont or compact multistate RN license
• Minimum 3 years of emergency room (ER) nursing experience (3-5 years preferred)
• Current BLS required; ACLS strongly preferred
• Comfortable working nights and every other weekend as part of the schedule
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple high-acuity patients in a fast-paced setting
• Must be able to pass background check and drug screen per facility policy

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong triage and emergency assessment skills
• Proficiency with IV therapy, medication administration and basic procedures
• Familiarity interpreting EKGs and recognizing acute cardiac presentations
• Excellent critical thinking and situational awareness in high-stress moments
• Clear, empathetic communication with patients, families and interdisciplinary teams
• Comfort using electronic medical records and documenting timely, accurate notes
