Shift Type: Night shift, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, overnight 12-hour rotation; schedule includes every other weekend (exact days assigned per unit rotation)
Hours per Week: 35
Candidate Pay Rate: $50 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality respiratory care to patients across acuity levels, focusing on safety and best practice
- Manage ventilators and respiratory equipment, adjusting settings per physician orders and patient response
- Perform patient assessments including airway management, oxygen therapy, and breathing treatments
- Interpret arterial blood gases and collaborate with the care team to optimize respiratory plans
- Document treatments, progress, and patient education clearly in the medical record
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and communicate changes in patient condition promptly
- Support infection control and equipment maintenance to promote a safe care environment
Qualifications
- Active Respiratory Therapist license in Virginia or ability to obtain state licensure promptly
- NBRC credential: RRT or CRT preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- Minimum 1 year of clinical respiratory therapy experience preferred; acute care experience a plus
- Current immunizations and ability to pass background and health screenings required for facility onboarding
- Strong teamwork, communication skills, and a patient-centered mindset
Education
- Associate degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent from an accredited program
- NBRC certification recommended
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency with adult ventilator management and non-invasive ventilation
- Airway management skills including suctioning and oxygen delivery techniques
- Ability to assess respiratory status and interpret ABGs
- Familiarity with respiratory equipment troubleshooting and maintenance
- Competence with EMR documentation and interdisciplinary communication
- Infection control practices and adherence to safety protocols
