Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour shifts (Day and Night): Day 3x12 (07:00 AM - 07:30 PM), Night 3x12 (07:00 PM - 07:30 AM). Typical schedule includes weekdays and some weekends; up to 6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule period (Days: Saturday/Sunday; Nights: Friday/Saturday). Rotating shifts including holidays.

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide expert cardiovascular ICU care using advanced hemodynamic monitoring including Swan-Ganz/PA lines to optimize patient outcomes
- Manage ventilated patients and titrate ventilator and vasoactive drips with precise clinical judgement
- Safely initiate and maintain IV therapy, arterial lines, central lines and PICCs; administer blood products when needed
- Monitor and manage mechanical circulatory support including IABP, Impella and VADs, escalating concerns promptly
- Deliver conscious and procedural sedation while continuously assessing patient response and safety
- Chart thoroughly and accurately in EPIC to ensure seamless interdisciplinary communication
- Participate in rapid response and emergency cardiac interventions, interpreting dysrhythmias and leading bedside care
- Support postoperative cardiac surgery patients (CABG, valve repair, TAVR) including immediate post-op management
Qualifications
- BLS and ACLS required
- EPIC charting experience required
- 2 years of cardiac ICU (CVICU) experience preferred
- Comfortable with 12-hour ICU shifts and 1:1–1:2 patient ratios
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred but not required
- Willingness to float to units of equivalent or lower acuity within the health system as needed
- Flu vaccine required per facility guideline (medical exemptions only)
- Ability to participate in a 36-hour orientation
Knowledge & Skills
- Cardiovascular critical care (CVICU) and telemetry monitoring
- Hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation (Swan-Ganz/PA lines)
- Ventilator management and ABG interpretation
- Experience with ECMO, IABP, Impella and VAD support (LVAD/RVAD)
- CRRT/CVVHD familiarity and renal failure management
- Central line, arterial line and PICC management; blood product administration
- Procedural sedation, conscious sedation monitoring, and emergency medication administration
- Strong rhythm interpretation and dysrhythmia management
- Skilled EPIC charting and interdisciplinary communication
