Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate bedside care during the night shift, focusing on patient comfort and clinical needs
• Administer medications, treatments, and documented nursing interventions accurately and on time
• Perform routine assessments, monitor vital signs, and promptly report changes to the care team
• Collaborate with RNs, therapists, and interdisciplinary staff to support individualized patient plans
• Maintain clear, timely documentation in the patient record and communicate handoffs at shift changes
• Support wound care, ADL assistance, and other delegated nursing tasks with attention to safety
• Assist in creating a calm, healing environment overnight and respond quickly to patient needs

Qualifications

• Current LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) license in Vermont or ability to obtain state licensure
• Current BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain prior to start)
• Comfortable and experienced working night shifts and scheduled weekend coverage
• Reliable transportation and ability to meet contract attendance requirements
• Clean background check and up-to-date immunizations per facility policy
• Travel nursing experience and familiarity with short-term assignment expectations are a plus

Education

• Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing (LPN) program; diploma or certificate required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong medication administration and documentation skills
• Skilled in basic assessments, vital signs, and recognizing changes in patient condition
• Experience with wound care, ADLs, and supportive patient care tasks
• Comfortable using electronic medical records and following facility protocols
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and time-management skills during busy night shifts
• Adaptability to new environments and a positive attitude toward learning facility-specific workflows
