Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate hands-on care to residents, assisting with daily living activities
- Take and record vital signs accurately and report any changes to the nursing team
- Help maintain a safe, clean and comfortable environment for residents
- Assist with mobility, transfers and proper use of assistive devices to promote independence
- Document care activities clearly and communicate observations to the care team
- Support residents' dignity and emotional needs through respectful interactions
- Participate in care planning and follow assigned care tasks reliably
Qualifications
- Current CNA certification (Certified Nursing Assistant) - required
- Valid state certification or ability to obtain Maine CNA credential
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
- Friendly, patient-focused attitude with strong observational skills
- Ability to work reliably on the assigned 3:00 PM - 11:15 PM shift and collaborate with a team
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- CNA certification (required)
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic patient care and activities of daily living (ADLs)
- Taking and documenting vital signs accurately
- Infection control and proper hand hygiene practices
- Clear, compassionate communication with residents and team members
- Basic charting and following care plans
- Time management and prioritization during busy shifts
