Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, resident-centered care that preserves dignity and independence
• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Support safe mobility and transfers while following facility protocols
• Monitor and document resident status, reporting changes promptly to the nursing team
• Help maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe environment for residents
• Build trusting relationships through clear, respectful communication with residents and families
• Participate in team huddles and care planning to contribute to high-quality outcomes

Qualifications

• Certified Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA) or equivalent certification
• Active/state nursing assistant certification for Maryland preferred or ability to obtain
• Comfortable working in a long-term care setting and supporting older adults
• Reliable, compassionate, and able to follow care plans and facility policies
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to resident care

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic resident care principles and activities of daily living
• Ability to safely assist with transfers and mobility
• Comfort with documentation and reporting changes in resident condition
• Strong observational skills and attention to detail
• Teamwork mindset and effective interpersonal skills with residents and staff
