Shift Type: Rotating 12-hour nights, 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM NOC; every-other-weekend required; minimum of 2 holidays during the 13-week contract (night-focused schedule with some float to MedSurg/ICU as needed)

Candidate Pay Rate: $65 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor adult PCU/stepdown patients with vigilance and clinical confidence
- Interpret telemetry strips and act promptly on changes in cardiac status
- Manage arterial lines and titratable drips (heparin, nitro, dopamine, Cardizem, amiodarone, insulin) safely and accurately
- Provide high-quality medication administration, including IV drip titration and infusion oversight
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and participate in charge/assignment workflows as required
- Use EPIC for timely, accurate charting and care coordination
- Support patient experience efforts through clear communication, responsiveness, and culturally sensitive care
- Safely use and troubleshoot unit equipment (high flow oxygen, lifts, vein finders, bladder scanner) and escalate respiratory needs to RT as appropriate
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (license to submit required; must be eligible to practice in the facility’s required jurisdiction)
- BLS, ACLS and NIHSS required prior to start
- Competency with arterial lines and titration of common drips required
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience; cardiac/stepdown or med-surg experience strongly preferred
- Comfort reading and interpreting telemetry independently
- Driver’s license required at time of submission to comply with the 50-mile radius rule
- Willingness to complete a pass/fail skills exam during orientation (90% required to pass)
- Flexible team player willing to float to MedSurg or ICU and work assigned weekends/holidays
Education
- Active RN license required
- BSN not required (per job posting)
- Unit-specific orientation (1 day) and successful completion of orientation skills exam
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong patient assessment and bedside clinical judgment
- Telemetry monitoring and rhythm interpretation
- IV therapy and drip titration expertise
- Arterial line management skills
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic charting
- Familiarity with high-flow oxygen therapies and basic RT troubleshooting
- Safe use of mechanical lifts, vein finders and bladder scanners
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and cultural sensitivity (units serve diverse populations including Hispanic and Somalian patients)
