Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, hands-on nursing care to residents in the Ladera Center area
- Administer medications and treatments accurately and document thoroughly
- Perform focused assessments and report changes in condition to the care team
- Support activities of daily living and promote resident dignity and independence
- Collaborate with RNs, therapists, and other staff to create effective care plans
- Maintain clear, timely charting in the electronic health record
- Assist with admissions, transfers and discharges as needed
- Participate in team huddles and contribute to a culture of safety and quality
Qualifications
- Active LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) license in New Mexico (required)
- Current BLS/CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire)
- Comfortable administering medications, wound care, and basic treatments
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Previous experience in long-term care or skilled nursing is preferred
- Local candidate (local-only assignment) with reliable transportation
Education
- Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing / LPN program or vocational nursing certificate
Knowledge & Skills
- Medication administration and documentation best practices
- Basic assessment skills and recognizing changes in patient condition
- Familiarity with EHR/charting and accurate record keeping
- Infection control and standard precautions
- Time management for extended day shifts and effective handoffs
- Compassionate resident-centered care and strong interpersonal skills
