Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate direct patient care with attention to dignity and comfort
- Administer medications and treatments accurately according to care plans
- Monitor and document patient condition, reporting changes promptly
- Collaborate with nurses and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care
- Support admissions, discharges, and safe patient transfers
- Educate patients and families on care routines and post-discharge instructions
- Maintain a safe, clean environment and follow infection control standards
Qualifications
- Valid LPN license in New Mexico (required)
- Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program or equivalent
- Current CPR/BLS certification (or willing to obtain upon hire)
- Comfortable working 12+ hour night shifts and handling multiple priorities
- Experience in long-term care or skilled nursing preferred but new grads encouraged to apply
Education
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of an accredited LPN/LVN program
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical assessment and basic nursing skills
- Accurate medication administration and documentation
- Clear communication with patients, families, and care teams
- Familiarity with electronic charting and care plans
- Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Compassionate bedside manner and patient advocacy
