Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess communication and swallowing function using evidence-based tools
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that help patients regain independence
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, and physicians to optimize rehabilitation outcomes
• Document progress, goals, and discharge planning clearly and timely in the medical record
• Provide family and caregiver education to support carryover and safety at home
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute clinical insight

Qualifications

• Active state SLP license (or ability to obtain prior to start)
• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or equivalent
• ASHA CCC-SLP strongly preferred or eligible
• Experience with evaluation and treatment of adult/geriatric populations and dysphagia preferred
• Strong clinical documentation skills and familiarity with electronic health records
• Current BLS/CPR certification as required by facility or able to obtain

Education

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in bedside swallowing evaluations and dysphagia management strategies
• Proficient in expressive/receptive language and cognitive-communication assessment
• Ability to create measurable goals and track functional outcomes
• Excellent communication and team-based collaboration skills
• Time management and caseload prioritization in a fast-paced rehab/nursing environment
