Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality perinatal nursing care for laboring and postpartum patients to support safe deliveries and smooth recoveries
• Perform and interpret fetal heart monitoring to guide timely clinical decisions
• Lead neonatal resuscitation efforts following NRP protocols when a newborn needs immediate support
• Deliver STABLE newborn stabilization measures as appropriate to protect fragile infants
• Collaborate with OB, neonatology, anesthesia, and multidisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive care
• Educate and support patients and families through labor, delivery, and early postpartum care with compassion and clarity
• Document patient care accurately in the electronic medical record and participate in thorough handoffs

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required
• Current, unrestricted RN license in Colorado or ability to obtain prior to start
• Minimum 1 year of experience as a perinatal RN required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required; may be obtained upon hire
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Advanced Provider required
• Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM) Intermediate certification required
• STABLE Program (STABLE) learner required
• BSN or MSN preferred
• Experience with EPIC electronic medical record preferred
• Bilingual Spanish preferred
• Able to safely function at high elevation (approximately 8,000 ft)

Education

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required; BSN or MSN preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Perinatal nursing best practices and maternal-fetal assessment
• Neonatal resuscitation skills and familiarity with NRP algorithms
• Fetal heart monitoring and strip interpretation (FHM)
• STABLE newborn stabilization principles
• Basic Life Support (BLS) proficiency
• Comfort using EPIC or similar EMR systems
• Strong communication and patient/family education skills
• Teamwork, critical thinking, and calm performance in high-acuity moments
