Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide skilled speech-language pathology evaluations and individualized treatment plans for geriatric patients
• Deliver evidence-based therapy for communication and swallowing disorders to improve patient outcomes
• Document patient progress accurately and timely in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate with nurses, therapists, physicians and family members to coordinate holistic care
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and discharge planning to ensure smooth transitions
• Educate patients and caregivers on strategies to maximize communication and safety at home
• Maintain compliance with facility policies, state regulations and professional standards

Qualifications

• Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist (required)
• ASHA CCC-SLP preferred or in progress
• Experience working with geriatric or rehabilitation populations preferred
• Strong clinical skills in dysphagia management, cognitive-communication or related areas
• Current BLS/CPR certification as required by facility
• Ability to work a travel contract and collaborate with on-site teams

Education

• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assessment and treatment of swallowing and communication disorders
• Familiarity with AAC strategies and adaptive communication techniques
• Proficient clinical documentation and charting in electronic medical records
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for team-based care
• Ability to prioritize caseloads and manage time effectively
• Understanding of rehab therapy goals, discharge planning and payer considerations
