Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality direct patient care using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate
• Perform continuous cardiac monitoring and promptly communicate changes in patient condition to the care team
• Deliver safe, evidence-based care in Telemetry and Med/Surg units and float to other competent units as needed
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and discharge plans to support better outcomes
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient care
• Document patient status, interventions, and responses accurately in the electronic medical record
• Respond quickly and decisively to changes in patient condition and clinical emergencies

Qualifications

• Current and valid state Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum 1 year of acute care hospital experience
• Current BLS (AHA or Red Cross) required
• Current ACLS (AHA or Red Cross) required
• NIHSS certification required
• DCI/BVP certification required
• Meditech EMR experience preferred
• Ability and willingness to float to units of competency

Knowledge & Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Med/Surg clinical skills including patient assessment and care planning
• Strong patient/family teaching and communication skills
• Proficient documentation and navigation of EMR systems (Meditech preferred)
• Ability to prioritize, triage, and respond to changing clinical conditions
• Familiarity with acute care workflows and multidisciplinary collaboration
