Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care that promotes recovery and dignity
- Perform thorough assessments and document clinical findings accurately and timely
- Administer medications and treatments safely while monitoring patient response
- Execute specialty assessments such as NIHSS for stroke patients when indicated
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the multidisciplinary team to coordinate care plans
- Maintain competency through required exams and skills checklists to ensure high-quality practice
- Adhere to facility policies, infection control standards, and required health screenings
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with Nursys verification required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- NIHSS certification required; DCI/BVP certification listed as required
- Completion of Prime Core Competencies, Prime Skills Checklist, Prime Specialty Exam, and Prime Basic Pharmacology Exam as part of onboarding
- Required health screenings and immunizations: COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza vaccine, Varicella, Tdap, TB test or Positive PPD with negative chest x-ray, Fit Test, and minimum 10-panel drug screening
- Strong clinical assessment skills and effective communication with patients and team members
Education
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license — Nursys verification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficiency with acute care nursing practices and documentation
- Stroke assessment and management skills including NIHSS
- Cardiac life support skills consistent with ACLS
- Medication administration and basic pharmacology knowledge
- Ability to perform competency-based skills and specialty exams
- Infection prevention and occupational health compliance
