Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality echocardiographic studies, capturing diagnostic images with care and precision
• Operate and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment to ensure accurate, reliable results
• Collaborate with cardiologists and the care team to provide timely, actionable imaging
• Prioritize patient comfort and safety during imaging procedures
• Document findings and maintain accurate patient records in the medical record system
• Participate in on-call rotations and respond to urgent imaging needs nights and weekends
• Maintain competency through Prime Core Competencies, Prime Skills Checklist, and Prime Specialty Exam requirements
• Adhere to infection control, fit testing, and immunization requirements to protect patients and staff

Qualifications

• ARDMS credential (or equivalent registry) required
• BLS certification required
• DCI/BVP certification listed as required in job documentation
• Current license/certificate verification as applicable for the state
• Comfort and experience performing echocardiography and cardiac sonography
• Willingness to participate in on-call rotations (nights and weekends)
• Successful completion of required health screenings and drug testing

Education

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Graduate of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography or cardiac sonography program preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of echocardiography, cardiac sonography, and diagnostic ultrasound
• Skilled in image acquisition, patient positioning, and EKG correlation
• Familiarity with Prime Core Competencies and Prime specialty skills checks
• Ability to operate and maintain ultrasound equipment and troubleshoot common issues
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work with physicians and clinical staff
• Understanding of infection control, fit testing, and standard safety protocols
