Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide direct, compassionate patient care to adult and geriatric patients in the cardiovascular lab
- Monitor and record physiologic and hemodynamic data continuously during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
- Assist physicians during catheterization and other interventional cardiac procedures
- Assess procedure room and equipment readiness; perform equipment checks and basic maintenance
- Obtain and manage supplies for individual cases and support inventory needs of the Cardiovascular Laboratory team
- Communicate patient condition clearly and promptly to physicians and the interdisciplinary team
- Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement activities to enhance patient outcomes
Qualifications
- Active state RN license required (license verification via Nursys)
- Current BLS (AHA) required prior to start
- ACLS required upon start and must be maintained
- DCI/BVP certification required
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in a Cardiovascular Lab doing cardiac work or in a Critical Care area
- BSN preferred
- Must be able to pass required health screenings and background checks, including drug screening and immunization requirements
Knowledge & Skills
- Cardiovascular lab procedures and sterile technique
- Monitoring and interpreting hemodynamic data and cardiac rhythms
- Patient assessment and critical care principles
- Equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and readiness checks
- Clear, timely communication with physicians and team members
- Basic pharmacology as it relates to cardiac procedures
- Inventory management and ensuring procedural supplies are available
- Participation in performance improvement and quality assurance processes
