Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic radiographic procedures with attention to image quality and patient comfort
• Position patients and operate imaging equipment safely and efficiently
• Adhere to radiation safety protocols and infection control standards at all times
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and the care team to support patient diagnostics and flow
• Maintain accurate patient records and document imaging findings according to facility policy
• Complete required competency checklists and specialty exams to demonstrate ongoing proficiency
• Ensure equipment is clean, functioning, and reported for maintenance when needed
• Provide compassionate patient care, including clear communication and reassurance during imaging

Qualifications

• Current BLS certification (required)
• DCI/BVP certification (listed as required)
• Successful completion of Prime Core Competencies Exam, Prime Skills Checklist and Prime Specialty Exam (onboarding requirements)
• Up-to-date occupational health requirements: COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza vaccine, TB test/PPD or negative chest x-ray, Varicella, Tdap, fit test, and a minimum 10-panel drug screen
• Per Diem availability for day shift assignments and ability to travel to the Redding area for the assignment

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong understanding of radiographic techniques and image acquisition
• Knowledge of patient positioning and anatomy for diagnostic imaging
• Familiarity with radiation safety practices and PPE use
• Ability to operate imaging equipment and troubleshoot common issues
• Good communication skills for interacting with patients and multidisciplinary teams
• Comfort with competency exams and following standardized checklists
