Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams accurately and compassionately to support patient care
• Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring image quality and safety
• Prepare patients for procedures, explain processes, and maintain their comfort and dignity
• Document imaging findings and complete required paperwork and electronic records promptly
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and the care team to deliver timely diagnostic information
• Complete required competency exams and skills checklists to demonstrate and maintain proficiency
• Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and facility policies at all times

Qualifications

• Active ultrasound/sonography credential or completion of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography program
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• DCI/BVP certification as listed, with successful license and certificate verification
• Ability to pass Prime Core Competencies Exam, Prime Skills Checklist, and Prime Specialty Exam
• Must meet facility health requirements (COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, TB testing, Hepatitis B, influenza vaccination, varicella, Tdap) and pass a minimum 10-panel drug screen
• Per diem availability and flexibility for day shift coverage
• Positive professional references and ability to complete required fit testing and health documentation

Education

• Graduate of an accredited diagnostic medical sonography or ultrasound program preferred
• Additional certifications in specialty ultrasound modalities are a plus

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of ultrasound modalities and imaging protocols
• Patient positioning, safety, and infection control best practices
• Proficient with imaging equipment operation and basic troubleshooting
• Clear communication skills for interacting with patients and multidisciplinary teams
• Comfort with completing competency testing and following facility checklists
• Attention to detail for documentation, image labeling, and recordkeeping
