Roles & Responsibilities
- Operate MRI scanners to acquire high-quality diagnostic images with precision
- Prepare and position patients safely and compassionately for imaging procedures
- Collaborate with radiologists and clinical teams to ensure clear, diagnostic studies
- Perform routine equipment checks and quality control to maintain imaging standards
- Complete required competency exams, skills checklists, and specialty testing
- Maintain accurate patient records, imaging logs, and documentation
- Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and facility screening requirements
Qualifications
- Valid MRT certification or state MRI technologist license (MRT) preferred
- BLS certification required
- DCI/BVP certification required
- Previous MRI technologist experience preferred for per diem coverage
- Ability to complete Prime Core Competencies Exam, Prime Skills Checklist, and Prime Specialty Exam
- Successful license/certificate verification and required health screenings (vaccines, TB, drug screen, fit test, etc.)
Education
- Completion of an accredited MRI or radiologic technologist program
- ARRT(MR) certification or equivalent training preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of MRI physics, safety and scanning protocols
- Patient positioning and cross-sectional anatomy familiarity
- Comfortable with PACS, imaging software, and documentation systems
- Excellent patient communication and ability to calm and reassure patients
- Attention to detail for image quality and safety compliance
- Ability to follow protocols for infection control and workplace health requirements
