Roles & Responsibilities

• Operate MRI scanners to acquire high-quality diagnostic images with precision
• Prepare and position patients safely and compassionately for imaging procedures
• Collaborate with radiologists and clinical teams to ensure clear, diagnostic studies
• Perform routine equipment checks and quality control to maintain imaging standards
• Complete required competency exams, skills checklists, and specialty testing
• Maintain accurate patient records, imaging logs, and documentation
• Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and facility screening requirements

Qualifications

• Valid MRT certification or state MRI technologist license (MRT) preferred
• BLS certification required
• DCI/BVP certification required
• Previous MRI technologist experience preferred for per diem coverage
• Ability to complete Prime Core Competencies Exam, Prime Skills Checklist, and Prime Specialty Exam
• Successful license/certificate verification and required health screenings (vaccines, TB, drug screen, fit test, etc.)

Education

• Completion of an accredited MRI or radiologic technologist program
• ARRT(MR) certification or equivalent training preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of MRI physics, safety and scanning protocols
• Patient positioning and cross-sectional anatomy familiarity
• Comfortable with PACS, imaging software, and documentation systems
• Excellent patient communication and ability to calm and reassure patients
• Attention to detail for image quality and safety compliance
• Ability to follow protocols for infection control and workplace health requirements
