Roles & Responsibilities

• Process, decontaminate, assemble, inspect, and sterilize surgical instruments and trays to maintain patient safety
• Perform quality control checks and document sterilization cycles accurately and consistently
• Follow established infection control and aseptic technique protocols to reduce risk
• Maintain inventory and ensure availability of sterile supplies for operating rooms and procedural areas
• Complete Prime Core Competencies, specialty exams, and skills checklists as required to demonstrate proficiency
• Collaborate with clinical and OR teams to prioritize instrument sets and support workflow
• Participate in fit testing, drug screening, and other required health screenings to meet facility standards

Qualifications

• Experience in Central Sterile Processing (Central Sterile Processing listed as a core skill in the posting)
• BLS certification (required)
• DCI/BVP certification (listed in posting)
• License/certificate verification as required by facility
• Successful completion of Prime Core Competencies Exam, Prime Skills Checklist, and Prime Specialty Exam as part of onboarding
• Ability to pass required health screenings and immunizations (COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, TB testing, influenza, Varicella, Tdap, drug screen)
• Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work night shift per diem assignments

Knowledge & Skills

• Thorough knowledge of sterilization methods, autoclave operation, and instrument processing
• Strong attention to detail for instrument inspection and tray assembly
• Familiarity with infection prevention and aseptic technique
• Good documentation skills and ability to follow policies and cycle logs
• Effective communication and teamwork when coordinating with surgical and clinical staff
• Ability to complete competency-based exams and follow established checklists
