Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare and dispense medications accurately under pharmacist supervision, ensuring patient safety every step of the way
• Compound, label, and package unit-dose medications following established procedures and sterile technique where required
• Perform inventory management tasks and cycle counts to maintain optimal medication stock levels
• Assist with medication deliveries, restocking, and returns to support efficient pharmacy operations
• Complete required documentation and electronic records with attention to detail and compliance with policies
• Follow infection control, safety, and confidentiality (HIPAA) standards to protect patients and team members
• Participate in competency evaluations and skills validation (Prime exams and checklists) to maintain high-quality care

Qualifications

• Active Pharmacy Technician credential or license where required — License/Certificate Verification will be completed
• BLS certification (required)
• DCI/BVP certification or verification as listed
• Completion of Prime Core Competencies Exam, Prime Skills Checklist, and Prime Specialty Exam as required
• Ability to pass health and compliance screenings: COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza vaccine, Varicella, Tdap, TB test/PPD or negative chest X-ray, 10-panel drug screen, and fit test
• Strong attention to detail, good communication skills, and comfort working in a fast-paced clinical setting
• Previous pharmacy technician experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of medication preparation, labeling, and dispensing workflows
• Familiarity with pharmacy information systems and electronic health records (Prime or similar systems preferred)
• Understanding of medication safety practices, sterile technique, and infection control
• Inventory management and cycle counting skills
• Ability to follow protocols, read prescriptions/orders accurately, and document work clearly
• Customer service mindset when interacting with clinicians and patients
