Roles & Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for GI procedures with professionalism and compassionate communication
- Assist GI clinicians and nursing staff during endoscopic procedures by providing instruments and technical support
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot GI procedure equipment and endoscopy scopes
- Maintain strict infection control and sterile technique for all equipment and instruments
- Complete required competency checklists, specialty exams, and documentation accurately and on time
- Support patient recovery and discharge instructions as directed by the clinical team
- Collaborate with teammates to ensure efficient turnover of procedure rooms and a smooth patient experience
- Participate in required license/certificate verification and health screening processes
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in a GI setting — must have hands-on GI tech experience
- BLS certification (required)
- DCI/BVP certification (required)
- Successful completion of employer-required competency exams and Prime specialty/core checklists
- Ability to pass required health screenings and immunizations (COVID-19, MMR, Hep B, TB testing, influenza, Tdap, Varicella, drug screen, fit test)
- Current license/certification verification as required by facility
Knowledge & Skills
- Familiarity with endoscopic procedures, scopes, and GI instrumentation
- Strong infection prevention and sterile processing skills
- Good patient communication and bedside manner
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced procedural environment
- Attention to detail for documentation, checklists, and safety protocols
- Team-oriented approach and willingness to assist across shifts
