Roles & Responsibilities
- Monitor cardiac and physiological telemetry continuously and identify abnormalities quickly
- Alert nursing and provider teams promptly to changes in patient status
- Document rhythm strips, events, and communications accurately and timely
- Operate and troubleshoot telemetry and monitoring equipment to maintain consistent monitoring
- Complete required competency assessments and specialty exams to ensure clinical excellence
- Maintain infection control practices and comply with health screenings and immunization requirements
- Communicate clearly with interdisciplinary team members to support patient safety and flow
Qualifications
- BLS certification (required)
- DCI/BVP certification (required)
- Successful completion of Prime Core Competencies, Prime Skills Checklist, and Prime Specialty Exam (required prior to or during onboarding)
- License/Certificate Verification as part of credentialing
- Must meet health and screening requirements: COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, TB testing (PPD/Chest X-Ray), Hepatitis B, Influenza vaccine, Varicella, Tdap, fit test, and negative drug screening (minimum 10-panel)
- Comfort working night shifts and ability to function well during overnight hours
- Strong attention to detail and ability to respond calmly in urgent situations
Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- Additional healthcare training, certification, or relevant clinical experience preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in telemetry monitoring and recognition of cardiac rhythms and arrhythmias
- Familiarity with monitor operation, lead placement, and troubleshooting alarms
- Strong clinical observation and critical thinking skills
- Clear, concise communication with clinicians and documentation systems
- Basic infection prevention practices and adherence to workplace health requirements
- Ability to complete competency and specialty examinations successfully
