Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care and assist with activities of daily living
• Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any concerns to the nursing team
• Support safe patient transfers, positioning, and mobility assistance
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in patient records
• Follow infection control procedures and ensure a clean, safe environment
• Communicate effectively with nurses, therapists, and families to support continuity of care
• Assist with admissions, discharges, and unit flow during overnight hours
• Respond calmly to emergencies and escalate concerns per protocol

Qualifications

• Active CNA certification or state nursing assistant registration
• Current BLS certification
• DCI/BVP (as required by site)
• Successful completion of license/certificate verification and required background checks
• Compliance with facility health requirements (COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hep B, TB testing, Tdap, Varicella)
• Pass required screenings: Prime Core Competencies, Prime Skills Checklist, Prime Specialty Exam, color-blind and fit testing, and a minimum 10-panel drug screen
• Reliable, professional, and comfortable working independently during night shifts

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• State-approved CNA training program completion required

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong patient care and bedside skills with attention to detail
• Ability to accurately take and document vital signs and observations
• Knowledge of basic infection prevention and safety practices
• Good communication and teamwork skills during handoffs and overnight care
• Comfortable with electronic charting or paper documentation as required
• Situational awareness and the ability to prioritize patient needs during busy nights
