Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide skilled physical therapy evaluations and evidence-based treatment plans to restore mobility and function
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care for adults in the rehab setting during night shifts
- Perform mobility, gait training, balance and therapeutic exercise interventions to improve independence
- Document treatments and patient progress accurately and in a timely manner using facility EMR
- Collaborate with nursing and the interdisciplinary team to coordinate safe discharges and transitions
- Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs, safety, and adaptive strategies
- Participate in quality initiatives, competency checklists, and required specialty exams to maintain high standards of care
Qualifications
- Active Physical Therapist license required (California licensure required or in process with verification)
- BLS certification required
- DCI/BVP certification required
- Successful completion of license/certificate verification and required competency exams
- Ability to pass background checks, drug screen, TB testing, and required immunizations
- Comfort working independently during night shifts and collaborating with on-site teams
Education
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent degree preferred; entry-level PT degree required as per state regulations
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong clinical assessment and differential diagnosis skills in rehabilitation
- Proficiency with gait training, transfers, balance, and therapeutic exercise
- Skilled documentation and care planning in an electronic medical record
- Good clinical judgment in acute and subacute rehab scenarios
- Excellent communication and patient-education abilities
- Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team and adapt to per diem schedules
