Roles & Responsibilities
- Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls and provide prompt patient care
- Deliver Basic Life Support (BLS) interventions and follow DCI/BVP protocols
- Assess patients, perform vital signs and initial evaluations, and document findings accurately
- Safely prepare and transport patients while maintaining patient comfort and dignity
- Maintain and check equipment, supplies, and vehicle readiness between calls
- Complete required competency exams, skills checklists, and specialty testing
- Communicate clearly with dispatch, clinical staff, and receiving facilities to ensure continuity of care
Qualifications
- Valid EMT license with demonstration of License/Certificate Verification (required)
- Current BLS certification (required)
- DCI/BVP certification (required)
- Ability to pass Prime Core Competencies Exam, Prime Skills Checklist, and Prime Specialty Exam
- Ability to complete required health screenings: COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, TB test, Tdap, Varicella, Hepatitis B, influenza, and a minimum 10-panel drug screen
- Fit test and color-blind test as part of onboarding
- Reliable transportation and ability to work per diem day shifts
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong patient assessment and basic emergency care skills
- Proficiency in Basic Life Support procedures and airway management basics
- Clear, calm communication under pressure with patients and care teams
- Accurate clinical documentation and charting skills
- Familiarity with infection control practices and safety protocols
- Team-oriented attitude and ability to collaborate with clinical staff
