Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform EEG studies accurately and compassionately to support patient care and diagnosis
- Prepare patients for procedures, explaining steps and ensuring comfort and safety
- Operate and troubleshoot EEG equipment, keeping devices calibrated and ready
- Document findings and patient data clearly and timely in the medical record
- Follow infection control protocols and required health screenings to maintain a safe environment
- Collaborate with neurologists, technologists, and the care team to deliver excellent neurodiagnostic services
- Complete required competency exams and specialty checklists to maintain high standards
Qualifications
- Current BLS certification (required)
- DCI/BVP certification (required)
- License/certificate verification completed and current
- Ability to pass Prime Core Competencies Exam, Prime Skills Checklist, and Prime Specialty Exam
- Willingness to complete required health screenings and immunizations (COVID-19, MMR, TB, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Varicella, Tdap) and drug screening
- Comfort working with diverse patient populations and performing bedside procedures
- Previous EEG technician experience preferred but enthusiastic, well-trained candidates are encouraged to apply
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of an accredited EEG/Neurodiagnostic technologist program preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Proficient in EEG setup, monitoring, and electrode placement
- Understanding of neurophysiology and common EEG patterns
- Strong patient communication and bedside manner
- Accurate clinical documentation and charting skills
- Familiarity with infection control practices and PPE
- Ability to perform equipment checks and basic troubleshooting
