Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to adult and geriatric patients in the cardiovascular lab with focus and compassion
- Monitor and record physiologic and hemodynamic data continuously during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
- Communicate patient condition and procedure needs clearly and promptly with physicians and the care team
- Assess procedure rooms and equipment for readiness and troubleshoot basic issues to keep cases moving
- Obtain and manage supplies for individual cases, maintaining inventory and ensuring case readiness
- Participate in performance improvement and continuous quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
- Support maintenance of equipment and ensure proper function before and after procedures
Qualifications
- Active state RN license required
- Current BLS (AHA) required
- ACLS required upon start and must be maintained
- DCI/BVP certification listed as a required certification
- One year clinical experience in a Cardiovascular Lab doing cardiac work or one year in a Critical Care area required
- Experience with hemodynamic monitoring and cardiac catheterization procedures
- Interventional Radiology (IR) or Electrophysiology (EP) lab experience is a strong plus
Education
- BSN preferred
- Completion of an accredited nursing program and required state licensure
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong skills in monitoring physiologic and hemodynamic data
- Familiarity with cardiac catheterization and cardiovascular lab workflows
- Ability to manage supplies and maintain equipment readiness and inventory
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with physicians and the multidisciplinary team
- Comfort working in a surgical/perioperative environment and responding to changing patient needs
- Participation in quality improvement and safety-focused activities
