Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform accurate 12-lead and rhythm EKGs on patients, ensuring clean tracings and correct lead placement
• Verify patient identity and explain procedures clearly to put patients at ease
• Monitor and report cardiac rhythms and abnormalities promptly to the care team
• Maintain equipment cleanliness, perform routine checks, and report malfunctions
• Document procedures and findings clearly and timely in patient records
• Collaborate with nurses and physicians to support high-quality cardiac care

Qualifications

• Experience as an EKG Technician or equivalent clinical experience
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
• DCI/BVP certification required as listed in the order
• Successful completion of license/certificate verification prior to start
• Ability to pass required health screenings and immunizations (COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, TB testing, Hep B, influenza, varicella, Tdap, drug screen, fit test)
• Willingness to complete Prime Core Competencies Exam and specialty skills checklist

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in proper lead placement and producing high-quality EKG tracings
• Knowledgeable about basic cardiac rhythms and when to escalate concerns
• Strong attention to detail for documentation and quality assurance
• Comfortable working nights and adapting to per diem schedules
• Good communication and patient-centered bedside manner
• Familiarity with infection control and standard clinical safety practices
