Roles & Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms by ensuring instruments, supplies, and sterile fields are ready for cases
• Assist surgeons and perioperative staff during surgical procedures with professional, timely support
• Maintain strict sterile technique and uphold patient safety standards throughout each case
• Perform instrument counts and ensure accurate documentation for patient care and regulatory compliance
• Participate in required competency exams and checklists to maintain clinical excellence
• Communicate clearly with the surgical team to anticipate needs and improve workflow

Qualifications

• BLS certification (required)
• DCI/BVP certification (required)
• OR Tech / Surgery Tech experience or certification preferred
• License or certificate verification as required by facility
• Ability to complete required health screenings and pre-employment testing (including drug screen, TB test, immunizations)
• Per diem availability and flexibility for day shift assignments

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of sterile technique and surgical instrumentation
• Familiarity with OR workflows, counts, and documentation
• Comfortable with Prime Core Competencies Exam, Prime Skills Checklist, and Prime Specialty Exam processes
• Team-oriented communication and ability to work under pressure in the OR environment
• Attention to detail for safety-critical tasks like instrument counts and sterile field maintenance
