Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, skilled nursing care to patients during day shifts
- Administer medications safely and complete Prime Basic Pharmacology requirements
- Perform core nursing tasks and competency-driven procedures per facility policy
- Monitor and document patient status, vital signs, and changes in condition
- Collaborate with nurses, providers, and the care team to support patient goals
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation and complete required checklists and exams
- Follow infection control, fit testing, and PPE protocols to keep patients and staff safe
- Participate in license and credential verification as part of ongoing compliance
Qualifications
- Current, valid California LVN license (required)
- BLS certification (required)
- DCI/BVP credentialing as required by facility
- Successful completion of Prime Basic Pharmacology, Core Competencies, Skills Checklist and Specialty Exam
- Up-to-date immunizations and health screening: COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, TB testing, Hepatitis B, Tdap, Varicella, influenza and drug screening
- Ability to pass a fit test and color-blind test as part of onboarding
Education
- Completion of an accredited Vocational Nursing program and active LVN license
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of basic pharmacology and safe medication administration
- Solid core nursing competencies and clinical assessment skills
- Accurate charting and documentation practices
- Infection control and PPE best practices
- Comfort with competency testing and skills validation processes
- Good communication, teamwork, and patient-centered care mindset
- Time management and prioritization in a busy clinical setting
