Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality respiratory care to patients across acuity levels
• Administer respiratory treatments and therapies as prescribed
• Operate, monitor, and troubleshoot ventilators and respiratory equipment
• Perform assessments such as ABGs and interpret results to guide care
• Collaborate with nurses and physicians to develop and adjust care plans
• Document patient status and interventions accurately in the medical record
• Participate in infection control, safety checks, and fit testing procedures
• Complete required competency exams and specialty checklists to maintain skills

Qualifications

• Active Respiratory Therapy credentialing subject to License/Certificate Verification
• BLS certification required
• DCI/BVP certification required
• Completion of Prime Core Competencies, Prime Skills Checklist, and Prime Specialty Exam as listed
• Successful background screening including Prime drug screen (minimum 10-panel)
• Up-to-date immunizations and health clearance: COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, TB test or positive PPD with negative chest X-ray, Varicella, Tdap
• Fit test clearance and acceptable physical/health statement

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of ventilator management and airway support
• Skilled in performing and interpreting arterial blood gases
• Proficient with respiratory equipment setup, troubleshooting, and maintenance
• Excellent patient assessment and clinical decision-making
• Clear communication and teamwork with interdisciplinary staff
• Accurate clinical documentation and familiarity with electronic medical records
• Adherence to infection control, safety, and compliance protocols
