Roles & Responsibilities

• Assess patients and deliver evidence-based respiratory care to support breathing and recovery
• Administer respiratory therapies and treatments, including oxygen delivery and aerosolized medications
• Operate and troubleshoot ventilators and respiratory equipment safely and effectively
• Monitor patient response, document care accurately, and communicate changes to the care team
• Complete Prime Core Competencies Exam, Prime Skills Checklist, and Prime Specialty Exam as required
• Ensure infection control and safety standards are followed, including fit testing and PPE use
• Participate in handoffs and interdisciplinary rounds to optimize patient outcomes
• Maintain required licensure and complete health screenings and immunizations per facility policy

Qualifications

• Active state respiratory therapy license (License/Certificate Verification required)
• BLS certification required
• DCI/BVP certification required
• Ability to successfully complete Prime Core Competencies Exam, Prime Skills Checklist, and Prime Specialty Exam
• Must meet facility health requirements including COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, TB testing, Hepatitis B, influenza vaccine, varicella, Tdap, and drug screening
• Per diem availability for day shifts and willingness to adapt to varying shift start/end times

Education

• Preferred: Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program or equivalent training (preferred, not strictly specified in order)

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong working knowledge of respiratory therapy procedures and airway management
• Experience with ventilator management and basic troubleshooting
• Patient assessment skills and the ability to prioritize interventions
• Clear documentation and charting skills
• Infection control best practices and safe use of respiratory equipment
• Good communication and teamwork skills with multidisciplinary teams
