Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform transthoracic echocardiography and other ultrasound procedures accurately and efficiently
• Operate and troubleshoot imaging equipment while maintaining high-quality images
• Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to deliver timely diagnostic information
• Maintain patient safety and comfort, explaining procedures with compassion and clarity
• Complete required documentation and enter results into medical records promptly
• Participate in Prime Core Competencies, specialty exams, and skills checklists to demonstrate proficiency
• Adhere to infection control, safety protocols, and site-specific screening requirements

Qualifications

• Certified Echo Tech or equivalent clinical experience in cardiac ultrasound
• BLS (Basic Life Support) required
• DCI/BVP certification required
• Successful completion of Prime Core Competencies Exam, Prime Skills Checklist, and Prime Specialty Exam
• Active license and ability to complete License/Certificate Verification
• Ability to pass required health screenings and vaccinations (COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza, Varicella, Tdap, TB testing)
• Negative drug screen (minimum 10-panel), fit test, and Prime color-blind test as required
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently in a clinical setting

Knowledge & Skills

• Proficiency in echocardiography imaging techniques and equipment operation
• Good understanding of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and common pathologies
• Skillful patient positioning and care during imaging procedures
• Comfortable with electronic medical records and timely documentation
• Attention to detail for image quality and reporting
• Ability to follow protocols, safety standards, and site-specific workflows
