Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, evidence-based critical care to adult patients in the Medical ICU
• Monitor and assess patients continuously, responding quickly to changes in condition
• Administer medications, IVs and advanced therapies safely and accurately
• Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists and multidisciplinary team members to create and carry out care plans
• Maintain accurate documentation and complete required Prime skills and specialty competency assessments
• Champion patient- and family-centered care through clear communication and compassionate support
• Participate in unit initiatives to improve patient outcomes and streamline workflows

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license (state licensure required)
• Experience working in ICU / Medical ICU settings
• DCI/BVP certification (as listed in job requirements)
• Completion of Prime Core Competencies Exam, Prime Skills Checklist and Prime Specialty Exam as part of onboarding
• Ability to meet required health screenings and immunizations (COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, TB test/PPD, Hep B, Influenza, Varicella, Tdap, drug screen, fit test, physical/health statement)

Knowledge & Skills

• ICU nursing and critical care principles
• Strong patient assessment and clinical decision-making
• Familiarity with medical ICU workflows and interdisciplinary collaboration
• Competence in patient care tasks and monitoring required in critical care environments
• Comfort with skills validation and specialty competency testing (Prime)
