Roles & Responsibilities
- Perform nuclear medicine imaging procedures with accuracy and compassion to support patient diagnosis and treatment
- Prepare, handle, and document radiopharmaceuticals following safety and regulatory protocols
- Conduct patient screening and preparation, ensuring all immunization and health requirements are met
- Operate imaging equipment and complete routine quality control and instrument checks
- Maintain clear, timely clinical documentation and communicate results to the care team
- Adhere to radiation safety principles and contribute to a safe environment for patients and staff
- Participate in competency exams and checklists to maintain clinical excellence
Qualifications
- Current license or certification required by state for Nuclear Medicine Technologist (license verification required)
- BLS certification required
- DCI/BVP credential required
- Compliance with health and screening requirements: COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, Hepatitis B, Influenza vaccine, Varicella, Tdap, TB testing/PPD or chest x-ray, 10-panel drug screen, fit test
- Per diem or prior nuclear medicine experience preferred, especially in night-shift settings
- Successful completion of facility competency checks and specialty exams
Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of nuclear medicine procedures and patient safety
- Skilled at radiopharmaceutical preparation and safe handling
- Familiarity with infection control, patient screening, and immunization compliance
- Competence in equipment quality control and basic troubleshooting
- Clear communication and documentation skills in fast-paced clinical settings
- Ability to work independently during night shifts and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
