Roles & Responsibilities

• Perform cardiovascular procedures in the cath lab with precision and attention to patient safety
• Assist cardiologists and the interventional team during diagnostic and interventional cases
• Prepare and maintain sterile field and ensure all equipment and supplies are ready
• Monitor patient hemodynamics and communicate findings clearly to the clinical team
• Follow radiation safety protocols and operate imaging equipment confidently
• Complete required competency checklists and specialty exams to maintain prime credentialing
• Document procedures, patient status, and equipment usage accurately and promptly
• Participate in pre-procedure patient screening and ensure required vaccines and tests are documented

Qualifications

• RCIS certification (Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist) required
• Current BLS certification required
• DCI/BVP certification required
• Active license and any applicable state certifications as required for practice
• Completion of Prime Core Competencies Exam, Prime Skills Checklist, and Prime Specialty Exam as part of onboarding
• Ability to pass required health screenings: COVID-19 vaccine, MMR, TB test, Hepatitis B, Influenza vaccine, Varicella, Tdap, drug screen, fit test, and color-blind test
• Strong teamwork, communication skills, and commitment to patient-centered care

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, and common interventional procedures
• Proficiency with cath lab imaging equipment and monitoring devices
• Skilled in sterile technique and procedural setup
• Familiarity with radiation safety practices and protective equipment
• Competence in patient monitoring, EKG interpretation basics, and hemodynamic assessment
• Accurate documentation and familiarity with electronic medical records
