Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, patient-centered care using the full nursing process: assess, plan, implement, and evaluate
• Provide direct care in the Emergency Department and telemetry settings with clinical confidence
• Communicate significant changes in patient condition to physicians and interdisciplinary team members
• Guide and educate patients and families to support recovery and informed decisions
• Direct and mentor other nursing personnel while maintaining high standards of professional care
• Respond quickly and accurately to acute changes in patient status and treatment response
• Ensure compliance with EMTALA and reporting requirements for suspected abuse
• Protect patient privacy and confidentiality in all communications and documentation

Qualifications

• Current, valid state Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS required; ACLS and PALS required
• NRP and EDAP 1 and EDAP 2 required
• BVP (MAB) training required
• NIHSS or Stroke Certification preferred
• COVID-19 vaccination and boosters preferred
• Comfortable working in telemetry and emergency settings; weekend availability required

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency Department nursing and telemetry experience
• Strong patient assessment and clinical judgment skills
• Familiarity with EMTALA regulations and abuse reporting protocols
• Ability to perform rhythm interpretation and emergency pharmacology tasks
• Excellent patient and family education skills
• Commitment to patient privacy, confidentiality, and professional standards
