Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, patient-centered care using the nursing process: assess, plan, implement and evaluate
• Provide direct bedside care in the Emergency Department and Telemetry settings
• Communicate critical changes in patient condition to physicians and the care team promptly
• Perform accurate patient assessments, initiate appropriate interventions, and evaluate outcomes
• Educate patients and families and coordinate activities of other nursing personnel
• Adhere to EMTALA regulations and report suspected child/adult abuse to appropriate agencies
• Maintain strict patient privacy and confidentiality at all times
• Document care and interventions accurately within the EPIC EMR

Qualifications

• Current and valid RN license (must be state-authorized to practice)
• BLS required; ACLS and PALS required
• NRP and DCI/BVP certifications required as listed
• EDAP 1 and EDAP 2 training required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• NIHSS/Stroke Certification preferred
• COVID-19 vaccination/boosters preferred
• Experience in Emergency Nursing and Telemetry strongly preferred
• Knowledge of EMTALA, patient assessment, and confidentiality requirements

Knowledge & Skills

• Emergency Nursing principles and telemetry monitoring
• Proficient use of EPIC electronic medical record
• Strong patient assessment and triage skills
• Cardiac monitoring, medication administration and critical care basics
• Ability to respond quickly and accurately to clinical changes
• Familiarity with EMTALA, reporting requirements, and care coordination
• Clear communication with interdisciplinary teams and physicians
