Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate, evidence-based medical-surgical nursing care to patients, including those with oncology and sickle cell diagnoses
• Safely administer and document medications and treatments, following facility protocols and chemo certification guidelines when applicable
• Perform thorough assessments and intervene promptly for changes in patient condition in step-down and med-surg settings
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate patient-centered care and discharge planning
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record and ensure continuity of care
• Educate patients and families about diagnoses, treatments, and self-care to promote recovery and reduce readmissions
• Demonstrate strong infection control practices and adherence to facility safety standards

Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Nursys verification required)
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the specialty (medical-surgical / oncology / step-down care)
• Certification card and up-to-date credentials loaded into your profile
• Complete work history or resume with no gaps greater than 60 days
• Skills checklist and references available upon request
• Chemo certification preferred but not strictly required for consideration
• Badge-appropriate photo and demographic profile information loaded into candidate profile

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong knowledge of medical-surgical nursing principles and step-down care
• Familiarity with oncology patient needs, chemotherapy basics if certified, and infusion considerations
• Experience managing sickle cell crises and complex symptom control
• Proficiency with IV therapy, medication administration, and monitoring for adverse events
• Clear clinical judgment, prioritization skills, and effective interdisciplinary communication
• Comfortable using electronic medical records and documenting patient care accurately
