Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate, patient-centered occupational therapy services as a COTA to help individuals regain independence
- Implement and adapt treatment plans under the direction of the OTR to meet functional goals
- Deliver skilled interventions focused on activities of daily living, adaptive equipment, and environmental modifications
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated, high-quality care
- Document accurately and timely to track progress and support continuity of care
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers to promote lasting functional improvements and safe home routines
- Participate in meetings and care planning to advocate for patient needs and measurable outcomes
Qualifications
- Current COTA credential (Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant)
- State licensure or eligibility to practice in Massachusetts
- BLS/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
- Comfort working with adults across a range of functional abilities and diagnoses
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team
- Reliable, professional, and patient-focused attitude
Education
- Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
Knowledge & Skills
- Skilled in ADL assessment and intervention to promote independence
- Familiarity with adaptive equipment and home modifications
- Experience with documentation systems and compliance best practices
- Ability to follow and implement OTR-developed treatment plans
- Good clinical judgment, time management, and organizational skills
- Positive patient education skills to engage patients and families
