Candidate Pay Rate: $189 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality primary care to adult patients, managing acute and chronic conditions
- Perform thorough assessments, develop treatment plans, and follow up on progress
- Prescribe and manage medications safely, including controlled substance oversight as required
- Document patient encounters accurately in the medical record and maintain confidentiality
- Collaborate with custody and facility staff to ensure patient and staff safety
- Participate in infection control, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical policy adherence
- Support continuity of care through clear communication and discharge planning
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree required
- Active California medical license or eligibility to obtain one
- Board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
- Current BLS; ACLS preferred
- Prior primary care experience required; correctional health experience highly desirable
- Ability to pass required background checks and facility security clearances
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
Education
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
- Completion of residency in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
Knowledge & Skills
- Clinical expertise in adult primary care and chronic disease management
- Proficiency with EMR documentation and clinical workflows
- Skill in patient assessment, triage, and urgent care decision making
- Medication management and safe prescribing practices
- Clear communication with patients, families, and institutional teams
- Familiarity with correctional healthcare principles is a plus
