Roles & Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, toileting and grooming) with dignity and respect
- Monitor and record vital signs and resident condition accurately and promptly
- Support safe mobility and transfers using proper body mechanics and assistive devices
- Provide compassionate companionship and engage residents in meaningful conversation and activities
- Follow individualized care plans and communicate changes to the nursing team
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation in resident charts and handoffs
- Adhere to infection control, safety protocols and facility policies at all times
- Work collaboratively with nurses, therapists and facility staff to deliver high-quality care
Qualifications
- GNA certification (required) — you’re the certified caregiver we need
- Current CPR/BLS certification (preferred or willing to obtain)
- Comfortable assisting with ADLs and performing basic resident care
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Passion for working with older adults and commitment to compassionate care
- Ability to pass background checks, drug screening and meet facility onboarding requirements
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Knowledge of basic patient/resident care practices and safety procedures
- Ability to take and document vital signs accurately
- Familiarity with infection control principles and PPE use
- Good charting and basic computer/tablet documentation skills
- Safe transfer and lifting techniques
- Strong interpersonal skills and a calm, patient-centered approach
