Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate direct patient care and routine nursing services to residents
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately
• Perform thorough patient assessments and document findings clearly and promptly
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and follow individualized care plans
• Maintain strict adherence to correctional facility safety and security protocols
• Respond to emergencies calmly and effectively, escalating care when needed
• Educate patients and support their health needs while maintaining professional boundaries
• Keep accurate clinical records and communicate changes in patient status to supervisors

Qualifications

• Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Pennsylvania
• Graduate of an accredited practical nursing program or equivalent training
• Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required or obtainable upon hire
• Comfortable and experienced working in a correctional or secure facility preferred
• Ability to pass background checks and comply with all facility security requirements
• Willingness to follow strict device and contraband policies (no cell phones or smart watches allowed on-site)

Education

• Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing (LPN) program

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong medication administration and documentation skills
• Solid patient assessment and clinical judgment
• Familiarity with infection control and standard precautions
• Effective communication and teamwork skills in a multidisciplinary setting
• Ability to work within correctional facility policies and maintain safety
• Good time management and the ability to prioritize patient needs
