Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting with dignity and respect
• Support mobility and transfers, using safe body mechanics and assistive devices
• Observe and report changes in residents physical or emotional condition to licensed staff promptly
• Provide compassionate companionship and promote resident engagement in social activities
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care and observations
• Follow infection prevention and control practices to keep residents and staff safe
• Collaborate with the care team to implement individualized care plans
• Ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) valid in Maryland
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• CPR/BLS certification required or must be obtainable prior to start
• Previous experience in long-term care or senior services is a plus
• Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and required health screenings
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, patient-centered approach
• Reliable transportation and flexibility for night shift assignments

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Skilled in assisting with ADLs and basic resident care
• Familiarity with infection control and safe patient handling
• Observational skills to note subtle changes in resident condition
• Basic documentation and charting abilities
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
• Teamwork and the ability to follow care plans and directions from licensed staff
