Location: Bowie, MD
Contract Type: Travel Contract
Shift Type: Days as scheduled, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM, day/evening shift (schedule varies by facility)
Hours per Week: 40
Candidate Pay Rate: $20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate personal care and assistance to geriatric residents with dignity and respect
- Assist with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, toileting, and mobility support
- Monitor resident condition and report changes promptly to nursing staff to ensure timely care
- Support safe transfer and ambulation practices to reduce fall risk and promote independence
- Document care provided accurately and timely in the facility record system
- Build meaningful relationships with residents and families to promote comfort and quality of life
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to follow care plans and improve outcomes
Qualifications
- GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) or state-equivalent certification required
- Previous experience in long-term care or geriatric settings preferred but enthusiastic new grads welcomed
- Current basic life support (BLS/CPR) certification preferred or willing to obtain
- Comfortable supporting residents with mobility needs and providing hands-on personal care
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work well within a care team
- Ability to pass facility background checks and meet state employment requirements
Education
- High school diploma or GED preferred; GNA certification required
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of infection control and safe hand hygiene practices
- Basic knowledge of resident rights, dignity, and person-centered care principles
- Skilled in safe transfer techniques and use of assistive devices
- Ability to observe, document, and communicate changes in resident condition
- Time management and ability to prioritize resident needs during a shift
