Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming and mobility
• Monitor and record vital signs and report changes to the nursing team promptly
• Provide compassionate, person-centered care that preserves dignity and independence
• Support mealtime assistance and feeding when needed, ensuring nutrition and hydration
• Keep accurate documentation of care provided and communicate effectively with team members
• Help maintain a safe, clean and comfortable environment for residents
• Participate in care planning and follow individualized care plans to meet resident needs

Qualifications

• Current GNA certification (Geriatric Nursing Assistant) or equivalent
• CPR/BLS certification preferred or willingness to obtain
• Previous experience working with geriatric or long-term care residents is a plus
• Must be able to pass background check and health screenings as required by facility
• Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude
• Vaccinations up to date as required by facility policy

Education

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• GNA certification required

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of basic nursing assistant skills and infection control practices
• Comfortable assisting with ADLs and safe patient handling techniques
• Good documentation skills and attention to detail
• Ability to observe, report and escalate changes in resident condition
• Compassionate bedside manner and strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with nursing staff and interdisciplinary team
